While nervously waiting to have a back room 'chat' with three elders after the meeting, I was counseled to smile. He said I was drawing undo attention.

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

Ritualistic behaviour within the JW faith
by stuckinarut2 ini was thinking about how the society criticises other faiths such as catholics because of their ritualistic procedures.. but couldn't it be said that witnesses have their own deeply ritualistic behaviours?.
think about the prayers said at meetings.
they all have to follow the same basic style and theme, and include the same basic content.. what about the ritualistic procedures of the memorial, and the passing of emblems - even to the servers and speaker (although they actually handle them more than everyone, they do their own special act of passing them to each other).

I agree stuckinarut2
There is a superstitious quality to it too.
That is also something that they describe Catholics as being.

Did you have a favorite pub . . .
by compound complex inpublication, that is?.
i just found all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial in storage.
i enjoyed studying it, as well as make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine.. our thinking has changed, of course, but, back then, did you have a wt publication you especially liked?.

I enjoyed reading the Aide book.
It was fun looking up different words.
Kind of a JW mini encyclopedia.
I still have a copy .
That and my old marked up bible that I used to study my way out, are the only books I kept.
ah , take that back; a friend gave my an old paradise book that I keep around too.

Cooked food and the evolution of man.
by Crazyguy ini was watching a documentary on the development of man and they were indicating that the eating of high protein diet was helping man to grow a bigger brain and then went on to say that cooking the food was the breakthrough on how our brain became bigger then other animals that ate a lot of protein.
does this make any sense to you and what science if any shows cooked protein is better in any way over raw?
your thoughts..

Greetings Village Idiot
No conventional chelation therapy. I would read up on the side effects please.
I'm going by memory.
First we addressed food sensitivities. Cleaned up his diet. Esp. food dyes. No imalgum dental fillings.
We added certain supplements that helped detox the liver.i.e. milk thistle. chlorella, a very good Vitamin C suspended in, I think, lecithin. There were a few homeo-pathics used, but I don't remember the names.
I made many batches of Cilantro Pesto,. Good thing he has an adventures pallet. smile
A lot of Epsom salt baths.
Other things too , I can ask my son about this.
I can give you the name of the Dr. we used and another one I am using for myself now..[ In private message].
This helped my Little Dove.
it is a commitment. It is costly to eat 'clean' too.
I am just speaking of my families experience.
The best to you and your loved ones

Just a thought...
My 15 year old grandson came to me a little while ago.
Very seriously , he said 'Nana, you know what?, I have Asperger Syndrome and ADHD . I just smiled. He said 'You must have already known'. We just laughed and I told him I have ADD. Yes I knew. We just have Interesting Brains.
It's now our private joke.
If you can, try to keep it light and relax while you are learning about this.
With my grandson , we did a heavy metal cleanse. It helped with both syndromes. It's an alternative method and may not be for everyone. I am not discounting Medication.
He has a photographic mind . Has had a few Art Shows.
He even has a girl friend...smile. They go to museums together.
I know, Nana's bragging.
